No good deed goes unpunished by some people.  That old green eyed monster jealousy and the knowledge that some people understand your actions and weakness is to lie when the truth would serve the circumstances better may bother Kyle Baker.  Granville is remembered as a decent man who treated another man's son as though he were his own child.  Granville had a problem understanding why everything he and Mildred owned in common was willed to Kyle on Mildred’s death.  One can draw many conclusions.  Disease left Mildred blind and Granville was never bothered by any need to read.  The end result was that Kyle and his Second Wife Lou Ann seemed to feel that even Granville was something they obtained by inheritance.

To say that this hurt the proud old man is an understatement.  To feel hurt by the thought of living on public assistance in what was your own home is natural for any decent hard working human.

Some complain that it was a dirty trick for us to carry out Granville’s wishes in closing his grave.  Again, this is hog wash!  Kyle got what Granville owned , but he did not get Granville’s soul or spirit.

One cannot say that Kyle set out to do other than carry out his mothers wishes.  He deeded a plot of land to Granville and Mildred for a trailer.  In all fairness, Granville was well off living in a comfortable home and perhaps shoulkd have refused the move to a strange neghborhood,  However, Granville wished to spend summers with James and Janice McConkey so he could be where there was some extitement especially the fair where he could visit old friends.  The first trip to the reunion with my wife Marlyn and family Kyle was observed bending little son Andrews fingers backward in order to inflict pain and cause him to cry.  My wife, a phicical education teacher wasted no time in rescuing her son from Kyle's sadistic pleasure.  If Kyle has a problem with me taking his hate out on a little kid is improper.  This world is full of sick people and children should not be molested
